Picking up where I left off here after an extended hiatus over the festive period, I'm sharing some photos of Sugarhouse Studios, where Roxy, Daisy and I jaunted to, courtesy of the Mr and the hire car, whilst in London last November.
Sugarhouse Studios is a recording studio-slash-event space-slash-artists' atelier located in London's East. Designed by Assemble, the colourful tiles that cover the building offer a bight and cheery respite from its industrial surrounds. Read about their inspirations behind designing the building here.
We didn't stay for very long at the studios, just enough to wear the Mr's patience while he waited for us to enjoy this special place and long enough to snap each little tile. We explored around the building's perimeter and enjoyed the music that was coming from inside. I can only image how creative I might be should I have the privilege to call this little barn my studio.

A conversation about how unfamiliar my river-side dwelling friends, Katie and Carin, were with the area of Montmartre led to this wonderful day. I've lived in the shadow of the Butte de Montmartre for four years now, it's long been my playground. I was more than happy to show my dear friends around on this rare sunny day a couple of weeks ago.
Katie thought the day would be a good opportunity to shoot her first set of photos for a new series she's starting about puppies and their owners. Daisy and I were more than happy to be the first off the rank. Carin thought it might be nice to take pictures of Katie shooting us. And then at once stage I whipped my phone out to get them both!
Despite being a bit awkward at the start - on my behalf, Katie, the professional, was breezy and calm all day - it was lots of fun helping her create these wonderful pictures. They beautifully encapsulate the endless love I have for my little furry friend and the magnificent day the three of us had wandering the north of the city, at one point crepes in hand.
While days like these are few and far between, they are magic while they
last and I'll never forget this particular one for as long as I live. I
am beside myself grateful that Katie decided to bestow her talent on me
and my pup. If you are visiting or are living in the city with a little
fur friend of your own, contact Katie for a little photo session. As a
testament on how good Katie is with our four-legged friends, Daisy hates! has strong issues with everything and everyone, but Katie had her sitting in her lap by the end of the day. I'd say they are now best friends forever!

Yesterday's usual Dimanche post has instead given way this week to a Lundi post. Today was spent lunching and wandering around Versailles with Melanie.
After taking the L train, that runs right behind my apartment, to Versailles Rive Droite on other side of the main entrance to the castle, you make your way along the edge of the gorgeous town of Versailles before arriving at some formidable gates, to find yourself in the forest where Marie-Antoinette once frolicked with sheep and Louis XVI once hunted deer. You make your way through the forest, where you are able to wander freely to marvel the Trianon, Petite Trianon and Hamlet, towards the gardens proper, which are fee-free from the top of the Grand Canal, to hire rowboats and bikes to properly explore the whole park. This
sneaky, 'back entrance', to the village and castle grounds has quickly
become my favourite way to visit the once capital of royalty in France.
From St Lazare it's just 30 minutes to Versailles, handy when I live
just up the road from the gare
The L train also does a fantastic loop around the western site of Paris, which gives you an amazing view of the city and a certain special Iron Lady.
Melanie has just completed putting together her new social coaching programme on nutrition and fitness - which looks fantastic! If you've been keen to kickstart a new healthier way of living, or have not given it a second thought, but now you are, head over to the progrmme's site and watch her presentation; you will be sold on needing to participating in this programme. There will even be a special guest appearance by Kristen from The Kale Project!
Melanie travels to Paris so often to visit clients and and to catch up with people including, on occasion, me, that it was fun to return the favour! Espcially when Navigo travel is still free until Aug 18! I'll have to get a couple more trips done this week!

This afternoon Mr M, Daisy and I arrived back from a quick, overnight jaunt to England to collect a friend and her puppy who are making their way to Greece for the summer. To travel between England and France, with pets, the most simplest and quickest way is taking the Eurotunnel, which connects Calais and Folkestone. We three did this trip back in January when we dropped the same friend to London to live, and I filmed it, which I thought fitting to share here today as it was fun to revisit and relive the journey.

Five expats and a pup benefited from free train travel and went by RER A to St-Germin-en-Laye to pass a sunny Sunday afternoon enjoying the temporary art sculptures celebrating the 400th birthday of Louis XIV's gardener, André Le Nôtre, and some lying on the grass, chouquettes, finding the Eiffel Tower on the horizon, taking pictures and, finally, gelato.
